Wow we has such a great response with our Animal Ed-Ventures at Home that we decided to launch our Animal Ed-Ventures At Home Kit!
Each week I created a series of activities that explaore a different theme.
Week 1 – Regal Mutts. Explore our awesome mixed breed dogs and create your own Regal Mutt
Week 2 – Beautiful Reptiles. Learn about our snakes and lizards.
Week 3 – Jr. Vet Tech. Learn some basic vet skills.
Week 4 – Awesome Amphibians. Become a Herpetologist and learn to identify different amphibians.
Each week your child will receive a surprise box in the mail to open and explore the world of animals through hands-on crafts, activities, learning opportunities, plus links for online videos, virtual classroom and animal meet-and-greets.
Each box consists of at least two engaging activities developed by our professional educators, along with all the materials needed for crafts. Choose to either have your box delivered to your home, or pickup from our Campus for Compassion location, and get ready for an educational and engaging animal ed-venture!
The Education & Outreach Department has gone virtual! I’m now creating a series of videos for our Ed-Ventures series. We post on facebook at 10am every Wednesday. Please click on the images watch the videos on the Arizona Humane Society website!

I was happy to be asked to design the 2020 Forever Loved Pets Sanctuary Calendar. It was great reading all the stories about the senior pets. They deserve a second chance.
We had a wonderful night celebrating Forever Loved Pet Sanctuary. The night was a huge success and we raised over $25K! This is over double what was raised last year! I thoroughly enjoyed being on the fundraising and event committee and so pleased the art auction was a huge success. The students from Children First Leadership Academy produced so amazing artwork, all of which sold in the silent auction. You can see their work below:

We have been so busy getting ready for the annual Canines + Cocktails. Even the dogs at the sanctuary got involved by creating some amazing pieces of art for the silent auction. Don’t miss out on this great opportunity to purchase an original painting while also supporting our senior dogs. Please visit the website for tickets. See you Nov 9th 2019!
I’m so excited to be putting together an Art Show for Forever Loved Pet Sanctuary. We will be featuring the work of international artists, students and of course art by the Forever Loved dogs at the shelter. You can see the work on show and buy your favorite pieces at our annual event Canines + Cocktails, Nov 9th 2019. Check out the website for details.
I’ve been working with Forever Loved Pet Sanctuary here in Phoenix. I’m currently working on the 2020 calendar and our fabulous annual event called Canines + Cocktails. I will be curating an art show for the event and working with the shelter dogs to produce our own special collection! If you’re interested in supporting us then please let me know!
CIFEC students are excited to be producing the Humane Society of the Cayman Islands 2019 Calendar. Students Katty Christian and Michael Pearson had a busy few days photographing the dogs and cats at the shelter. I’ve been working hard designing the calendar and will be sending it to the printers at the end of the month. Calendar will be available from the Humane Society from the 29th October 2018!
Students on the BTEC Level 2 Creative Media Production have recently completed a live project with the Cayman Islands Humane Society. They were chosen to produce a short film that highlights the great work of the Humane Society to be shown at the Furball Gala.
They spent a month filming on location and working closely with the Humane Society’s staff and animals. Jonassi McLean is the Sound Designer for the production. He says, “this has been a great experience, I’ve had the chance to work on my sound editing and writing skills. I’ve also learnt how important it is to be able to communicate with others on the team”. Director of Photography Jacinda Simms found the experience rewarding, “it was really good working with animals even if sometimes they don’t follow directions! I got to learn about operating different cameras and filming techniques. I also liked being on location with my team and learning new things from my teacher”. Mrs Musser is the course leader for the CIFEC Creative Media courses. “This has been a fantastic opportunity for the students and they now understand the pressure when working to a clients deadline!” We also had the opportunity to promote the Humane Society and the film on Cayman 27 news.
The Humane Society have been very impressed with the professionalism of the students and also invited some students to assist with photography at the Furball Gala. Gabriel Morla is the Director for the film, he says, “it’s been great because I’ve been working for a real client. I can’t wait to see the film on the big screen at the Furball Gala and learn from a professional photographer.”
The film premiered to over 300 people at the fundraising event the, Furball Gala dinner on the 8th April 2017.
